Asin has been signed up to play the female lead in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Housefull 2. The film is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Sajid Khan. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was to play the heroine in this film but she moved out of project for reasons best known to her.
Sources, however, point out that Deepika decided to stay out of Housefull 2 as she has been approached for a Rajinikanth-starrer and wants to keep her dates free.
Deepika’s present projects are Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan and Desi Boys while Asin is working alongside Salman Khan in Ready.
